Resurrection Sunday worship in 2020 was greatly impacted by the global pandemic—stay at home orders, empty churches, online worship, and a renewed realization of human mortality. These realities have highlighted the precious and pertinent words of Jesus. In the Upper Room he promised, “Because I live, you also will live” (John 14:19 ESV). Facing the cross, our Lord comforted his own: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid” (John 14:27). The risen Lord declared, “And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matt 28:20).
